Ross Paisley

Ross is a Chartered Building Surveyor, having graduated in Scotland in 1982 and he became Chartered in 1984. He was employed by Knight Frank and Rutley before coming to Guernsey in 1986 to join a local firm of Chartered Surveyors. He has been a Director of Lovell Ozanne & Partners Surveying Limited and Lovell Ozanne & Partners Architects Limited since 1993. Ross specialises in a variety of property matters including Building Contracts, Building disputes, expert witness and insurance work, defects analysis and buildings problem solving. He also has particular experience in historic building work.

Ross is on the Board of a long established local property company which ultimately distributes profits to charities supporting the elderly and was chairman of Guernsey Voluntary Service for many years, helping older adults in the community. He is a past chairman of Guernsey Round table and currently a Trustee and Director of another local charity.

Andrew Male

Director

Chartered Architect

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Architect having studied at Portsmouth School of Architecture. He gained experience in a wide range of projects including commercial, residential, leisure, hotel and health developments working in the south of England before moving to Guernsey with his wife and family in 1996. Andrew joined Lovell Ozanne in 1997, and is the Practice Projects Director.

He has been involved in many of the major developments on the Island as Project Architect, including the Trafalgar Court office development, Marina View office and residential development, OGH Hotel redevelopment, St. Martins Community Centre, the Vega residential development, Methodist Homes Dementia Care Home, Cobo Community Centre, Sark Sanctuary and Havelet Waters residential development.

Andrew Merrett

Director

Andy joined Lovell Ozanne in 1998 and has been actively engaged in the delivery of a number of prestigious projects from inception to completion.

He is currently involved in many projects, large and small, from large commercial master planning right through to bespoke interior detailing. The most notable recent work includes the Admiral Park development, which achieved Planning permission in 2016. He is now actively involved in assisting the client to bring this project to fruition. He is also currently working on high-end refurbishment and fit-out for private residential clients and the delivery of a 20-unit social housing scheme for the GHA.

In the last few years, Andy has obtained planning permission for a contemporary hotel design at Idlerocks and has also been involved in the successful completion of a large warehouse and petrol filling station project at the former GT Cars site, completed in 2016.

Andy has also been responsible for obtaining and delivering substantial projects in Jersey and has successfully completed large private houses, a number of multi-unit residential schemes, a hotel and self-catering scheme, office accommodation and has obtained planning approval for a large contemporary beachfront house in St Brelade Bay, Jersey.

Andy takes on responsibility for Architectural Computer Graphics. “My particular interest is in developing and presenting design aspirations in a recognisable and realistic form. This includes 3-Dimensional Visualisations, a process that involves computer modelling to create photo-realistic images or animation of a proposed building in its contextual environment. As a working tool, it enables a designer to explore scale, massing and material finishes within the context of a particular location."

Chris Richardson

Director

Chartered Surveyor

Chris joined Lovell Ozanne in 1993, having begun his career in surveying in 1992 and obtained a Diploma in Surveying, awarded with Distinction, via the College of Estate Management in Reading. He was subsequently elected a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Chris became a Director of Lovell Ozanne Surveying in 2004 and presently provides a broad range of Building Surveying expertise including survey and residential valuation services, advice with regard to building defects, repairs or dilapidations and administration of repair or refurbishment works contracts on a variety of building types.

Chris is a Trustee and Property Manager for the Guernsey Blind Association and a committee member of the RICS Guernsey Group. His leisure time is primarily spent boating among the Islands or dog walking on L’Ancresse.

Annalisa Spencer

Director

Chartered Architect

Annalisa qualified as a Chartered Architect in 2009, studying at the University of Liverpool and then The University of Westminster.

She joined the practice in 2015, following over a decade working off-island for practices in London, Paris, Geneva and Doha. She has a versatile and enthusiastic approach, with an emphasis on establishing client confidence and effective project team communication.

Annalisa's primary interest lies in the residential, education and community sectors. Her main objective is to enhance our built environment whilst never losing sight of her clients’ objectives and constraints.

Outside of work, Annalisa can usually be found on the beach with her young family.

Andrew Ozanne OBE

Consultant

Chartered Architect, Registered Arbitrator

Andrew qualified as an Architect in 1980. He returned to Guernsey in 1981 and became a Partner in the firm in 1984. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Registered Adjudicator with the Academy of Construction Adjudicators and a Practicing Mediator. His particular interest is in construction law and planning legislation.

He is past Chairman of the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors and maintains involvement in local politics and strategic planning.

Andrew was awarded an OBE in 2019 for services to the community.

Steve Robert

Senior Architectural Technologist

BTEC HNC Building Studies

Steve recently rejoined Lovell Ozanne having previously worked with the company since leaving school in 1987. He studied at the College of Further Education during his apprenticeship with Lovell Ozanne and achieved ONC & HNC in Building Studies. Steve also won a national award in Building Technology Studies.

Steve has extensive construction knowledge and brings a wealth of experience in construction and technical detailing to projects. He has worked in many project sectors including social housing, commercial and hotel and leisure.

His work at Lovell Ozanne includes the Charroterie Residential scheme, Trafalgar Court office development, Vega Apartments and social housing schemes for the GHA. Recently he has been charged with the technical delivery and project running of the exciting Havelet Waters development

Steve enjoys motorsport, gardening and DIY and hopes that one day he will finish working on his house! He has a great sense of humour - sometimes shared with his colleagues.

Andrew Jolly

Senior Architectural Technologist

Andrew is an Architectural Technician with over 36 years of experience in the construction industry.

He attended La Mare de Carteret Secondary school. He joined a local architects practice in 1981 whilst studying for the BTec Building Studies, Building Technology and Construction course at the College of Further Education, where he achieved an O.N.C. BTec Building Studies qualification.

Andrew joined Lovell Ozanne and Partners team in May 2011. He is experienced in AutoCAD and is involved with producing detailed production drawings and construction details. His projects have included Dixcart Hotel in Sark, Cobo Community Centre, Havelet Waters and various other residential projects.

Andy Rolph

Senior Building Surveyor

BEng(Hons) BSc(Hons) AMIMechE

Andy joined Lovell Ozanne & Partners Surveying Limited in 2006 and has 12 years of experience in Building Surveying, following 5 years of experience in topographical and measured surveys under previous employment. He has a previous background in mechanical engineering, with separate degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and Architectural Technology.

Andy has considerable experience in administering building works and has a particular interest in construction detailing and the resolution of defects. He also has a wide knowledge of the Building Regulations and other technical standards.

Andy spends much of his leisure time on his own home development project, spending time touring horse shows with his wife and is a keen dog walker.

Emma Sarre

Senior Building Surveyor

Emma joined Lovell Ozanne & Partners Surveying Limited in 2007 following a short term survey contract with Digimap and 7 years of site-based construction management experience in both Guernsey and the UK with two large UK contractors. Emma had previously undertaken both work experience and management shadowing at Lovell Ozanne as a student.

Emma regularly carries out varied survey work including condition and dilapidation surveys for both commercial office premises and industrial buildings and quinquennial reports for a wide range of ecclesiastical properties. These survey works are often undertaken in conjunction with planned maintenance schedules. Emma has a particular interest in site work and contract administration and the interaction between clients and contractors.

Outside of the office, Emma is a member of the North Show committee and organises the Battle of Flowers although has not yet ventured to build a float herself.

Samara Bougourd

Building Surveyor

FdSc, BSc(Hons)

Samara qualified as an Architectural Technologist in 2014, studying both Construction and Architectural Technology at the University of Brighton. After completing her degree, Samara worked locally in architecture for three years before joining Lovell Ozanne.

Samara undertakes a variety of tasks including Planning/Building Control applications, writing specifications, tender analysis and preparing Schedules of Condition, together with site work.

Samara is enjoying gaining valuable surveying experience and hopes to become a Chartered Building Surveyor in the future.

In her spare time, Samara enjoys regular exercise, bargain hunting in the sales and frequent trips to Sark. Occasionally she also uses her colleagues as guinea pigs to test baked goodies, although often these are too good to share.

Ally Wilson

Office Admin & Secretary

Ally is at the heart of the Lovell Ozanne team and keeps control of all the day-to-day running of the office, as well as maintaining a welcoming and friendly environment. She is responsible for organising all office functions and is a persuasive and relentless staff party game organiser!

Ally is an avid baker and is known as the office feeder. She is also a keen gardener and can often be seen donning a head torch in order to finish the last of the weeding. She enjoys long walks and is at her happiest finding a peaceful spot on the cliffs to become engrossed in a book for hours on end.

Sandra Ayres

Financial Manager

Sandra joined the practice in September 2016 on a part-time basis to look after the book-keeping, accounting and office administration for both companies.

Prior to joining Lovell Ozanne, Sandra has previously worked in similar roles within the Finance Industry in Guernsey.

Outside of the office, Sandra is a Trustee and volunteer for The Guernsey Blind Association and her hobbies include baking, eating out, racketball and golf.

Samanatha Dorrity

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

Sam completed her Architecture BA(Hons) Part 1 degree in July 2019, studying at De Montfort University.

Sam joined the practice in August 2019. She has a creative approach to problem-solving and is keen to understand the transition between studying architecture and working as an architectural assistant. She is organised, dedicated and enjoys working as part of the Lovell Ozanne team.

Sam continues creating art outside of the office and is currently a runner up for the 2019 RIBA Bronze Medal Award for Part 1 undergraduates.

Ann-Marie Le Sauvage

Office Admin & Secretary

Ann-Marie joined Lovell Ozanne in 1994 as a Personal Assistant/Secretary to Ross, Chris and the Surveying Department, having worked previously with Ross and Chris at another Practice for several years.

Ann-Marie’s interests outside work include Church bellringing and she has been a very active Member of the Lions Club of Guernsey for a number of years.

David Sherwill-Zopf (formerly Horton)

Chartered Architect

BA(Hons), Dip Arch, ADPPA, RIBA

After graduating from London South Bank University in 2013 with an Architecture BA Hons in Architecture, David returned to Guernsey where he has worked extensively in the private residential sector in the UK and across the Channel Islands. During this time, David graduated from Oxford Brooks University with an Advanced Diploma in Architecture in 2021 and in 2022 he qualified as a Chartered Architect.

David has a passion for design and detail and believes that good design should be applied to all projects, regardless of size or complexity. His contemporary yet historically sensitive approach has seen him collaborating on award-winning architectural projects in Guernsey and overseas.

Peter Cataroche

Pete has been a member of the Lovell Ozanne technical team for the past 39 years and brings a degree of continuity and stability in this ever-changing world.

Pete undertakes the majority of the measured surveys carried out in-house, enjoying the wide variety of projects that Lovell Ozanne have undertaken over the years, from the smallest house extension to large commercial developments.

Pete's interests outside of work hours include looking after and interacting with family (especially grandchildren) and gardening.

Rachel Evans

Architectural Assistant

BTEC HNC

Rachel completed the Construction and the Built Environment HNC Level 4 course at the College of Further Education in 2022.

Rachel joined the practice in September 2019 Following her completion of the Creative and Digital Arts course at the College of Further Education in July 2018. She was initially on the Apprenticeship scheme, attending the Construction and The Built Environment courses at the College of Further Education whilst also working with us.

Rachel completed the ‘Construction and the Built Environment BTec Level 3’ apprenticeship course in June 2020. She achieved distinctions in all three units. She completed the ‘Construction and the Built Environment HNC Level 4’ course in 2022 achieving a merit. This Course has taught her many helpful skills needed for the path in architecture she wishes to take.

Rachel’s main interest is the concept of 3D modelling. She enjoys creating models that can help with the visualisation of a project, showing the proposed as a realistic image and video using rendering software.

Rachel has a natural flair for art and design and enjoys drawing and sketching in her free time.

Claudia Pozo

Architectural Designer

Claudia qualified as an architect from the University of Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru and graduated with her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Westminster with merit in London, UK.

She joined Lovell Ozanne in 2021 following nine years of working professionally in Lima and London. She has integrated easily into the design team.

Claudia’s interests lie in the residential and commercial sectors. Her main objective is to respond to the needs of the client, trying to protect the environment and take advantage of its potential.

Claudia loves nature. She spends her weekends with her family walking in the forest during winter and at the beach during summer.

Julian Hurley

Chartered Architect

Julian graduated from the Universities of Westminster, Kingston, and Portsmouth. He registered as an Architect in 2012.

Julian worked as Project Architect on a variety of typologies in Central London on contracts up to £10m. He returned to Guernsey in 2018 and joined the studio in late 2021.

Julian has a young family with whom he enjoys spending time at the weekends.

Jazmine Emmanuel

Jazmine studied her RIBA Part 1 at the Mackintosh School of Architecture and is now pursuing her RIBA Part 2 whilst working with us.

As an Architectural Assistant, Jazmine will be contributing creatively to project design stages.

Outside work, Jazmine keeps connected to the wider creative world by pursuing graphic design and photography projects.
