Strawberry Farm Residential Development
Design of five unique contemporary homes
Lovell Ozanne was appointed by Fuller Group to navigate the IDP to obtain planning permission for a residential development on the site of the redundant former Strawberry Farm in St. Saviours.
The planning route was not straightforward and required phased planning applications in order to prove redundancy and suitability for a new-build 5-house development.
The constraints of the site meant that the new-build residential had to occupy the same footprint as the demolished building. The houses are contemporary in design with references to traditional agricultural buildings which suits the surrounding rural context.
The design features superior insulation, airtightness and sound insulation. Materials include timber cladding with zinc roofs and large glazed west facing aspect to all houses. Large gardens to the west and ample parking were allowed for throughout.
The plan design and spatial layout have been carefully considered to ensure that the living spaces are light, airy and spacious.
Alex Fuller, Managing Director of The Fuller Group, the property and development company behind the project, said: “The houses appear larger than they are due to optimal space planning. They have a modern appearance but plenty of wood providing warmth. Neutral colours and shades have been used and there is a high level of attention to detail compared to a typical commercial development.”
