David Sherwill-Zopf is a Chartered Architect based in our Guernsey studio. He is recognised for creating refined architecture that is deeply connected to its context. A thoughtful balance of contemporary design, architectural heritage, and a sensitive response to landscape and place characterises his work.
Specialising in bespoke homes and the careful adaptation of historic buildings, David believes that successful architecture should enhance everyday living while respecting the unique character of its setting. Every project is approached with the same commitment to proportion, craftsmanship, materiality, and enduring design quality, regardless of scale.
David graduated with a BA (Hons) in Architecture from London South Bank University in 2013 before returning to the Channel Islands to develop his professional experience within the private residential sector across Guernsey and the UK. This early experience established a strong foundation in high-quality residential design and fostered a lasting interest in the restoration and adaptation of historic buildings.
In 2021, he completed his Advanced Diploma in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University and qualified as a Chartered Architect in 2022. Since then, David has contributed to award-winning architectural projects in Guernsey and internationally, refining a design approach that combines contemporary clarity with a deep respect for historic context, craftsmanship, and place.
Alongside his professional practice, David is committed to supporting the next generation of architects. Since 2022, he has served as a Personal Tutor and Examiner for the Royal Institute of British Architects, mentoring emerging professionals and contributing to architectural education and professional development.
David is passionate about raising the standard of architectural design in the Channel Islands. His work is driven by the belief that great architecture should be authentic, carefully crafted, and responsive to both its environment and the people who inhabit it.
